Playing with Fire- a Firefighting Academy

The design of the proposed masterplan makes use of the angles of the building and raises even more odd angles present in the diagonals running from wall to wall. The main focus of the living quarters is the L-shaped rooms which fit into one another, making use of the tall space and creating interesting vertical dynamics. Green spaces populate both the inside and outside, complemented by the skylights from the ceiling. The learning environment features two small classrooms, one large lecture hall and a library. The practical side of the building includes an arcade room, a laundry room, a gym, a shower/changing room space, a lounge and a kitchen. The inner courtyard is meant as a way to travel between spaces easily.
